Manager of Respiratory and Neurodiagnostic Services

Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations - Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York - plus multiple primary and specialty care physician practices locations, including The Heart Center, a leading provider of cardiology care, and two urgent care offices.
Non-acute care is offered through various affiliates, including the Thompson House for rehabilitation and skilled nursing services, and the Home Care organizations.
Summary:
Assumes responsibility for overall daily operation and management of the Respiratory Care Services, EEG, Pulmonary Function Lab, and Blood Gas Laboratory.
Coordinates staffing and supervises activities of all areas to maintain high standards of patient care, for every age group, consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the medical center.
Ensures compliance with hospital, department, and government regulations.
The Department Supervisors report to the Manager of Respiratory Neurodiagnostic Services
Responsibilities:
1-Reviews appropriate written requirements and compliance needs with respect to JCR and State Health Department regulations to ensure compliance with such regulations.
2-Maintains, monitors, and ensures blood gas laboratory operations are within defined limits of the New York State Department of Health (DOH) and the College of American Pathologists (CAP) regulations.
3-Maintains and ensures that all departments operate within financial constraints set by budgetary requirements.
4-Develops a departmental budget according to established procedure and investigates and suggests alternatives to established budgets based on the most cost-effective use of resources.
Pursues cost savings or revenue -generating programs to enhance Respiratory & Neurodiagnostic Departments.
5-Assumes responsibility for employee relations within Respiratory Care Services, and EEG Departments to achieve the mission, vision, and values, with positive employee relationships, by implementing and communicating human resource policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
6-Ensures effective communication that will facilitate efficient and effective operations.
7-Identifies equipment needs and assists in the evaluation and procurement process.
8-Maintains and monitors the development, revising and implementing of operational and clinical policies and procedures.
9-Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the quality of services provided-maintains a written plan that identifies measurable elements (indicators) of quality and the process of collecting, monitoring, and enacting corrective action plans to address issues where quality care may need revision.
10-Presents dashboard metrics and active performance improvement projects to the Quality Performance Improvement Council as requested11-Develops and implements specific departmental safety policies and procedures and incorporates safe practices within area of responsibilities.
12-Maintain and Model Nuvance Health Values.
13-Demonstrates regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
14-Performs other duties as required.
